Rod most recently served as Senior Vice President of Development for Martin Ventures, leading its consulting arm, Embolden Health Partners. Embolden worked with healthcare organizations to explore approaches in transforming existing business lines to thrive in an uncertain healthcare climate. Rod also was one of the principles to develop Wellvana, an integrated health network in San Antonio with more than 150 physicians, and he formed Intervention Health Services Inc., a joint venture behavioral health telemedicine company in partnership with the University of Texas.
Before joining Martin Ventures, Rod was the Chief Operating Officer of Medicine & Science at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) where he was responsible for developing and implementing the enterprise-wide strategic plan and direction for Medicine and Science, including the implementation of a systemwide clinical research organization with more than 60 clinical trials, the development of a multisite national physician practice model, and the development of a network affiliation model with major oncology centers across the country. Rod has more than 30 years of senior level healthcare experience. He joined CTCA after serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of University Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he orchestrated the final transition/conversion of University Health System from a public entity under the aegis of Louisiana State University to a private, not-for-profit health system subsidiary of the Biomedical Research Foundation.
Before that, Rod was President and Chief Operating Officer of Tenet Health System’s Detroit Medical Center, where he was responsible for the operation of nine hospitals with over 2,000 licensed beds, including Children’s Hospital of Michigan, the Rehab Institute of Michigan, and the Heart Hospital. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of Vanguard Health System in San Antonio, Texas, overseeing the operation of Baptist Health System and all of its service

Nancy has been a recognized leader in health system transformation, with a focus on patient satisfaction, clinical quality, program development, safety, employee engagement and cost efficiencies. Her last acute care hospital leadership position was President and Chief Executive Officer at Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) – Philadelphia until late 2019. Before that, Nancy was the Chief Nurse Executive for the CTCA System. During her tenure as CNO, Nancy played a significant role in developing and overseeing CTCA’s care coordination model for the system, as well as building out clinical program expansion opportunities. She currently provides executive and clinical leadership contract consulting.
During the summer/fall of 2021, Nancy worked for International SOS as the civilian contracted Chief Nursing Officer for Task Force Eagle at Fort Lee Virginia. She led a team of civilian nurses that collaborated with the Operations Allies Welcome military team (Air Force and Army) to do the medical screening, immunizations, urgent pediatric/obstetric and adult medical care for the Afghan Refugee program with the Department of State.
Nancy was appointed by the Health Commissioner of Philadelphia as the Chief Nursing Officer for COVID-19 Surge Operations from April 2020 to June 2021. This assignment began with establishing a 170-bed Alternative Care Facility in the arena at Temple University’s Liacouras Center to leading the PDPH/FEMA-1&2/Joint Military COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinics for the City of Philadelphia.
She attended Widener University and received a Bachelor’s in Nursing Science and the University of Pennsylvania for a Master’s in Nursing Science and a Minor in Organizational Dynamics. She advanced her career from a Staff Nurse to Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, Director for the Emergency Trauma Center, System Emergency Services Director, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Nursing Officer for an Oncology Hospital, Chief Executive Nurse for the Oncology System to President and Chief Executive Officer for an Oncology Hospital. For the past four years she has served as a Trustee for Widener University.

In addition to healthcare clients, he has worked as a lead communications strategist for growth, development and zoning campaigns for such clients as K. Hovnanian; WCI/Renaissance; the Dulles South Business Alliance; and Major League Baseball.
He is the former Deputy Chief of Staff and Press Secretary for Louisiana Governor Charles “Buddy” Roemer and has managed strategy and message for more than a dozen political and initiative campaigns. His early career was as a newspaper journalist and he has provided leadership and organizational consulting for such organizations as The Washington Post; The New York Times; The Los Angeles Times; The Chicago Tribune; USA Today; El Nuevo Dia (Puerto Rico); La Nacion (Cost Rica); La Nacion (Buenos Aires) and others.
